Supports marketing and communications through storytelling, technical writing, content creation, photography, videography, website updates, graphic design, facility tours, research, event coverage, and website and social media analytics. The intern helps promote STEM, research, workforce development, and educational initiatives while building practical digital communications and marketing experience.

Leads business attraction, expansion, and investment efforts across Southern Virginia. Builds relationships with corporate prospects, site selectors, governments, and economic development partners; researches target industries; prepares presentations and proposals; coordinates site selection and recruitment projects; manages prospect records; and represents the region at meetings, trade shows, conferences, and prospect visits. The role supports job creation, capital investment, and regional economic growth, requiring travel throughout Virginia and occasional domestic and international travel.

Lead regional research and communications to support economic development and business recruitment. Collect and analyze demographic and economic data, produce reports and visualizations, manage digital content and social media, maintain internal databases, support marketing campaigns and prospect engagement, and coordinate events and partner outreach.
