Leads company-wide technical strategy for InfluxDB 3.0 while remaining hands-on in Rust development. Designs and improves the distributed storage engine, ingestion, compaction, caching, columnar object storage, query execution, reliability, and performance. Influences product strategy and architecture across teams, supports cloud deployment, establishes engineering standards, participates in on-call, mentors senior engineers, and represents engineering to executives and customers.

Build and enhance InfluxDB 3, including import/export, data transformation pipelines, and WebUI integration. Develop high-performance distributed database features, troubleshoot performance and production issues, and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability. Participate in on-call support, collaborate with platform and cross-functional teams, and translate customer needs into technical requirements. Use AI coding tools effectively while maintaining high standards for validating and refining generated code.

Sources and researches target accounts, conducts high-volume outbound prospecting through email, phone, social, and video, and generates qualified meetings for Account Executives. Engages senior contacts, communicates InfluxDB’s technical value, nurtures early-stage prospects, and converts interest into qualified leads. Requires German and English fluency, consultative sales experience, strong communication and organizational skills, technical aptitude, and familiarity with AI-enabled processes and sales tools.
