Welcome to Indigo

Through the nature-based and digital technologies employed in the company’s core offerings — biotrinsic ®, Market+ and Carbon by Indigo — Indigo connects stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem, unlocks sustainability and profitability benefits for all and puts control in the hands of farmers. “With the open market as our foundation, farmers get to choose, ultimately, how they want to monetize the regenerative practices they are implementing to help our planet,” CDO Maria Belousova said. “Indigo’s work to digitize and optimize the agriculture industry stands to make an unprecedented impact on both people and the planet.”

Employee Reviews

Maria Belousova

“I am motivated to apply my experience to address one of the most important and complex questions: how do we help farmers and the agricultural supply chain profitably and sustainably feed the planet?”

Maria Belousova, Chief Digital Officer

Belousova joined the Indigo team in fall of 2020. Indigo’s first CDO, Belousova leverages more than 20 years of experience leading tech teams at GrubHub, Bluefly, Microsoft and other orgs to grow Indigo’s digital platform and serve the needs of farmers, buyers, advisors and agricultural ecosystem partners. “Farmers are the heart of what we do,” Belousova said. “We believe that sustainable agriculture is the leading scalable solution to create enduring environmental and economic impact, and that is only possible if farmers have the tools and resources to implement sustainable practices.”

Rodney Connor

“We’re not building one-off tools that meet the needs of any individual buyer or farmer. We’re building tools that meet the needs of the industry as a whole.”

Rodney Connor, VP, Market+ Product

“Along with every other originator I’ve ever met, I just wanted to find opportunities that maximized profit for the farmer and the company I worked for,” said Connor, who spent the first 15 years of his career as a grain originator. At Indigo, Connor has expanded on this work. Through the company’s Market+ platform, Connor has been able to connect stakeholders across the agricultural supply chain — including farmers, cooperatives, processors, merchants, and consumer brands — through a suite of integrated and data-driven tools designed to improve traceability and profitability.

A.J. Kumar

“We are excited to be a part of the broader scientific community and be part of the global effort to advance our knowledge and unlock the full potential of agriculture as a climate solution.”

A.J. Kumar, VP, Sustainability Sciences

Kumar leads the sustainability sciences team at Indigo. His responsibilities include overseeing overall scientific strategy, designing large-scale field trials, pursuing technology exploration and identifying technologies that enable sustainable agricultural markets to scale faster. To this end, Kumar and his team have formed partnerships with the USDA ARS, major universities, carbon offset registries and on-farm trial partners. “Being a part of the scientific community means actively contributing to the corpus of knowledge,” Kumar said. “Transparency and rigor are core to Carbon by Indigo.”
