Provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN preceptor in the emergency department. Responsibilities include assessments, nursing interventions, medication administration support, documentation, activities of daily living, patient transport, safety and infection prevention, communication with the healthcare team, and maintaining a clean care environment. The role requires enrollment in an approved registered nursing program and current BLS certification.

Coordinates care, discharge planning, utilization review, transitions, appeals, and post-acute services for complex patients. Assesses patient needs, monitors medical necessity and length of stay, facilitates interdisciplinary communication, supports safe discharges, prevents readmissions, and connects patients with community resources. Maintains clinical documentation, protects patient rights and confidentiality, and collaborates with physicians, payors, denial management, accounting, and healthcare teams.
