Develop and extend Apache Druid’s query engine and storage system, adding query functions, complex capabilities, and performance improvements through SQL planning, vectorization, storage optimization, and distributed execution. Contribute to the technical direction and open-source community through coding, design reviews, and code reviews. Collaborate with field engineering to support customers and explain complex technical concepts.

Build and maintain scalable Java microservices and backend components for Imply Lumi and Apache Druid. Develop database features, lead major cross-team initiatives, collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams, and participate in production on-call rotations. The role requires experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Helm, relational or OLAP databases, and agile development. Apache Druid, open-source database contributions, Kafka, and Flink experience are advantageous.

Design, build, and maintain scalable analytics database systems based on Apache Druid. Collaborate across teams to deliver performant data products, mentor engineers, and contribute to product and architecture decisions while promoting inclusive teamwork.
