Conduct genomic epidemiologic studies and analyze next-generation sequencing data to support CDC respiratory virus surveillance. Develop bioinformatics pipelines, custom algorithms, quality-control procedures, and data-management workflows. Analyze viral evolution using phylogenetic, spatiotemporal, phylodynamic, and epidemiologic methods; assess emerging variant risks; prepare scientific reports and publications; and provide technical leadership to bioinformatics teams.

Run and develop bioinformatics pipelines and quality controls for next-generation sequencing; perform genomic epidemiology, phylogenetic and spatiotemporal analyses; support data management, reporting, and publications to inform viral surveillance and variant risk assessment.
