Provides respiratory therapy in acute care and emergency settings, including prescribed treatments, ventilator operation, oxygen equipment monitoring, arterial blood draws, blood gas analysis, EKGs, CPR support, and patient education. Maintains equipment, records treatments, supports quality improvement, assists with emergency room patient care, and may coordinate or supervise technical staff during assigned shifts. Requires a Texas respiratory care license, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, and CPR certification.

Performs and monitors waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory testing with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include specimen evaluation and processing, equipment calibration and maintenance, troubleshooting, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, process validation, inventory support, critical-result communication, and training students and new employees. The role also participates in inspections, root-cause analyses, corrective actions, and laboratory process improvements.

Explains procedures to patients, supports cardiopulmonary resuscitation, maintains equipment and supplies, assists with staff education, and may coordinate shift coverage and supervise technical staff. Requires a Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, and CPR certification.
