Research Engineer developing human-robot interaction systems for consumer robots. The role spans robotics research and hands-on engineering across motion, perception, sensing, actuation, thermals, inference, firmware, hardware, datasets, and evaluation. Responsibilities include inventing and testing novel approaches, building real hardware and ML systems, deploying reliable low-latency solutions on edge devices, and documenting reproducible results. Candidates should demonstrate self-directed projects, end-to-end artifacts, hardware experience, ML deployment, and cross-layer technical adaptability.

Support development of consumer character robots through hands-on mechanical prototyping, controls integration, calibration, CAD iteration, fixture design, test-rig operation, reliability testing, and integration troubleshooting. The intern will build rigs, wire sensors, create simple test scripts, document results, and translate mechanical design changes into controls adjustments while working across the physical robotics stack.

Supports the CEO and Chief of Staff across hiring pipeline management, executive scheduling, investor and partner communications, vendor and manufacturing coordination, contract administration, cap table and board materials, content creation, partnerships, and event logistics. The intern owns fast-moving workstreams, turns incomplete tasks into plans, and helps coordinate operations during the company’s first large-scale robot production run.
