Provides first-point-of-contact support for patients, providers, staff, and affiliates. Schedules medical appointments, handles high-volume inbound calls, records demographic and insurance information in Allscripts, explains appointment requirements, answers questions, researches issues, and provides solutions. Maintains call quality, accuracy, customer satisfaction, and performance metrics while delivering professional, patient-focused service.

Provides advanced administrative and operational support to the Chair of Ophthalmology, coordinating academic, clinical, and research activities; manages correspondence, scheduling, budgets, HR tasks, CME symposia, student clerkships, vendor relationships, and confidential communications to ensure departmental operations run smoothly.

Performs laboratory maintenance, cell culture and mouse colony care, and testing of human and mouse specimens. Responsibilities include ordering supplies, isolating RNA and proteins, conducting RT-PCR, Western blotting, and immunostaining, organizing research results, attending laboratory meetings, and supporting IBC, IACUC, and IRB protocol preparation. The role contributes to NIH-funded research on kidney disease in sickle cell disease.
