Teams at Hinds Hospice (dba Hinds LifeCare)

Provides skilled hospice, palliative, and end-of-life nursing care in community settings. Coordinates interdisciplinary care plans, medical management, and hospice services for patients and families, while promoting quality of life and supporting loved ones. Requires weekday availability with an on-call rotation and use of a personal vehicle for patient visits.

Provides after-hours hospice nursing care through patient and family phone support, home visits, admissions, comprehensive and PRN visits, imminent-death and death visits, and tuck-in visits. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and responds to patients’ end-of-life care needs during evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Prepares and submits hospice claims, statements, and invoices to Medi-Cal, Medicare, and private insurers. Verifies insurance coverage, obtains authorizations, resolves and resubmits denied claims, manages accounts receivable, submits appeals, monitors electronic billing, and follows up on outstanding payments. The specialist also maintains compliance with changing healthcare billing regulations and collaborates with billing, administrative, and clinical staff.
