Leads nursing staff and supports resident care in a long-term care setting. Responsibilities include staffing, hiring, training, evaluations, care planning, MDS, documentation review, infection control, regulatory compliance, resource coordination, and collaboration with physicians and consultants. The role requires a licensed nurse with geriatric or long-term care experience, leadership skills, strong clinical judgment, and knowledge of nursing home regulations.

The Charge Nurse provides direct resident care, administers medications and treatments, implements care plans, transcribes physician orders, documents assessments, and participates in shift reports. The role guides Nurse Aides, educates support staff, maintains infection-control and safety standards, addresses staffing shortages, and responds to emergencies. Candidates must be licensed RNs or LVNs with strong assessment, documentation, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
