The Staff Accountant investigates discrepancies, maintains accurate records, and supports the Controller and finance team while managing multiple deadlines.

Supports daily office operations and executive leadership by answering calls, maintaining records, assisting with certified payroll documentation, updating fleet maintenance and fuel records, maintaining KPI data, and completing administrative assignments. The role requires strong organization, communication, discretion, and Microsoft Office proficiency in a fast-paced construction environment.

Administer weekly payroll for union and non-union employees, including certified payroll, wage rates, overtime, dues, benefits, audits, and reconciliations. Manage onboarding, personnel records, recruiting support, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance documentation, workers’ compensation reporting, and HRIS/payroll data. Partner with managers and union representatives on grievances, disciplinary matters, labor agreements, and contract compliance. Generate HR, payroll, and workforce reports.

Handles the full inside-sales cycle, including customer engagement, lead generation, quoting, order processing, upselling, product recommendations, and follow-up. Supports showroom customers, coordinates special orders and custom signage, collaborates with purchasing and outside sales, resolves concerns, and maintains product knowledge. Assists with order pulling, warehouse duties, inventory counts, showroom restocking, and branch housekeeping while ensuring products meet MUTCD and DOT standards.

The Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, cash reports, AP transactions, and supporting schedules. The role supports monthly and year-end close, lease and fixed asset accounting in NetSuite, financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and process improvements. It is designed for an early-career accountant with foundational U.S. GAAP knowledge, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail.

Build customer relationships, generate sales opportunities, process orders and quotes, recommend traffic safety products, and support showroom, warehouse, inventory, and custom sign operations. The role coordinates with purchasing, outside sales, branch management, and sign production while resolving customer concerns and maintaining product knowledge. Candidates must provide strong customer service, learn MUTCD/DOT standards, use Microsoft Office, and safely handle materials up to 35 pounds.

Supports weekly payroll processing by calculating wages, overtime, deductions, benefits, and verifying timesheets and pay rates. Prepares certified payroll reports, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon, tax, and wage-and-hour regulations. Maintains confidential payroll records, assists with audits and reconciliations, resolves employee payroll inquiries, and supports system updates and process improvements. The role is full-time and on-site.
