Defend workers’ compensation claims for employers, insurers, and self-insured clients. Manage caseloads, deadlines, discovery, depositions, motions, legal briefs, mediations, hearings, negotiations, and settlements. Analyze claims, investigate factual and legal issues, review medical records, assess exposure, advise clients, prepare reports, and maintain communication with stakeholders. The role requires strong litigation, legal writing, advocacy, organization, judgment, and client relationship skills.

Manage a complex civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, hearings, and trial. Advise clients and insurance professionals, conduct legal research, draft persuasive filings, communicate case developments, collaborate with attorneys, and mentor junior lawyers. The role requires independent litigation management, strong advocacy and writing skills, and a North Carolina law license, with Asheville as the home office in a flexible hybrid arrangement.

Represents employers, insurers, and self-insured entities in North Carolina workers’ compensation defense matters. Manages caseloads, conducts depositions, handles discovery, drafts motions and briefs, evaluates claims, negotiates settlements, represents clients at mediations and hearings, and communicates litigation strategy and case developments. Requires strong legal research, writing, advocacy, organization, judgment, and client-service skills in a collaborative hybrid environment.
