Provides specialized instruction to second-grade students with IEPs in reading, mathematics, and writing. The role implements IEP goals, differentiates instruction, monitors student progress, maintains achievement records, collaborates with teachers and administrators, participates in IEP meetings, communicates with families, and supports an organized, inclusive classroom. The specialist also contributes to curriculum development, professional growth, and preparation for state assessments.

Supports a positive, structured school culture during lunch, recess, transitions, dismissal, and after-school interventions. Builds relationships with students, reinforces expectations, celebrates positive behavior, and collaborates with educators and support teams, including when assisting students with higher behavioral needs. Collects and enters behavioral data in GameTime, maintains confidential records, participates in training and team meetings, and communicates consistently across school teams.
