Conducts audits of patient files, billing records, claims, medical documentation, and regulatory compliance. Reviews Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and DMEPOS requirements; validates coding, orders, medical necessity, proof of delivery, and authorizations. Identifies errors and risks, prepares audit reports, tracks corrective actions, supports external audits, and educates staff on compliance and documentation standards.

Coordinates home medical equipment referrals and services between hospitals, healthcare providers, patients, insurers, and internal teams. Builds relationships with referral sources, supports business growth, educates providers about DME services, verifies medical necessity and insurance coverage, coordinates deliveries, and ensures accurate documentation for billing. Provides professional customer service, resolves concerns, maintains product and payer knowledge, and meets department performance metrics.

Provide patient assessment and fit prefabricated orthoses; instruct patients on use and care; document records; verify insurance; manage inventory and referrals; travel daily to Metro Detroit sites; use HDMS; complete expense reports; participate in on-call rotations and training toward Certified Fitter credentials.

Process and transmit patient claims, verify eligibility and authorizations, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, handle collections, liaise with payers and patients, maintain billing tables, and troubleshoot accounts receivable issues.
