Operates the hospital communications center, including telephone, radio, paging, and mass notification systems. Answers and transfers calls, monitors medical and safety alarms, alerts emergency response teams, maintains physician on-call schedules and contact preferences, protects patient confidentiality, and communicates effectively with internal and external customers.
