Supervises an application engineering team responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications supporting insurance processes. Oversees daily workflow, technical priorities, performance optimization, infrastructure alignment, user support, process improvements, and stakeholder collaboration. Provides coaching, mentorship, and technical expertise across programming languages, cloud platforms, development frameworks, and machine learning concepts while managing performance and budget targets.
Insurance
Leads complex workers’ compensation underwriting for new, renewal, and modified policies. Evaluates risk, coverage, pricing, and terms using underwriting guidelines, reports, inspections, and risk models. Ensures regulatory compliance, documents decisions, advises agents and brokers, monitors market and regulatory trends, and supports profitable business growth. May coach staff and serve as the highest escalation point for coverage and risk decisions. This is a field role in Virginia with occasional travel.
Insurance
Manage California workers’ compensation claims from inception through resolution. Investigate claims, evaluate coverage and compensability, establish reserves, negotiate settlements, develop resolution strategies, prepare large-loss reports, collaborate with counsel and external vendors, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain documentation, and communicate with stakeholders.
