The R&D Manager for AI Python Frameworks will lead a team to design and build foundational AI infrastructure, focusing on agent lifecycle management, observability, and developer enablement, while ensuring AI system reliability and quality across the organization.

Build and evolve Python infrastructure libraries, frameworks, and services supporting large-scale backend systems. Design microservices, event-driven architectures, data access, messaging, observability, CI/CD, and cloud-native capabilities. Solve performance, concurrency, scalability, and production runtime challenges across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Redis, Kafka, and SQS. Establish engineering standards and collaborate across Backend, DevOps, SRE, and Product Engineering teams.

Manage the full commercial sales cycle from prospecting through close, articulate Gong’s value proposition, build customer relationships, maintain forecasts, achieve quarterly quotas, and run 7–10 day pilot programs. The role requires SaaS sales experience, outbound prospecting, executive-level selling, strong communication, and success meeting sales goals in a hybrid Chicago-area environment.
