Clean allocated rooms, bathrooms, toilets, furnishings, carpets, and equipment; control germs, odors, and infestations; safely dispose of waste; follow COSHH, health and safety, care standards, and confidentiality requirements in a care home.

Manages the care unit during the day, leads and develops the care team, and ensures high standards of person-centered nursing care. Responsibilities include staff induction, clinical supervision, student nurse mentorship, performance reviews, team meetings, care quality monitoring, and compliance with NMC professional standards, CQC requirements, and internal policies.

Greets visitors, manages reception and phone inquiries, handles mail and deliveries, supports meetings, maintains a safe reception area, and performs clerical office tasks. The role also serves as the village’s emergency first aider, fire marshal, and first responder for the warden system. It requires scheduled on-site coverage seven days a week, including bank holidays.
