Develop a pro-human strategy for AI emphasizing controllable, verifiable, human-centered systems. Track efficient models, open-source AI, robotics, and industrial applications; engage international policymakers and stakeholders; build coalitions; and translate technical strategy into policy recommendations. The role requires strong AI technical fluency, policy engagement experience outside the US and China, excellent communication, stakeholder management, and independent strategic leadership.

Lead end-to-end initiative areas: research opportunity space, set strategy, scope products/orgs, recruit founders, manage contractors and vendor relationships, commission work, run fellowships, and deliver concrete outcomes (specs, recruited teams, or reasoned decisions not to pursue). Collaborate with FLF staff and report to the COO.

The Communications Director and Staff Director will lead CARMA's communications strategy and provide executive support, ensuring effective operations and alignment across teams. Responsibilities include managing content for outreach, overseeing project workflows, and enhancing organizational efficiency while promoting AI safety initiatives.
