Owns functional safety certification, standards compliance, safety lifecycle gates, safety cases, certification body relationships, safety manuals, subsystem data packs, regulatory monitoring, and field modification impact analysis. The role serves as the named Functional Safety Manager, evaluates evidence against IEC and ISO standards, supports customer conformity files, and independently challenges safety analyses across autonomous machinery products.

Design and implement safety-critical C/C++ firmware for embedded devices across Zephyr, FreeRTOS, bare-metal, and Embedded Linux environments. Responsibilities include RTOS architecture, drivers, board bring-up, hardware integration, debugging with JTAG/GDB, CI/CD and hardware-in-the-loop testing, performance optimization, and IEC 61508 compliance. The role requires integration across real-time and Linux platforms, networking and peripheral interfaces, and collaboration with safety engineering teams.

Lead and contribute to firmware development for safety-critical embedded products. Split time between hands-on C/C++ RTOS and Embedded Linux work, hardware bring-up and debugging, maintaining CI/CD and HIL tests, and managing the firmware team's delivery, quality, planning, hiring, and cross-team integration.

Responsible for leading sales efforts in Southeast and Central USA, managing strategic accounts, developing sales strategies, and ensuring customer engagement.

Design and implement automated tests, frameworks, and fixtures for embedded hardware and software. Execute regression, performance, stress, and reliability tests. Build and maintain R&D and production test environments, collaborate to debug firmware and hardware, define testability in design reviews, support manufacturing partners, and enable customers onsite (10-20% travel).
