Direct coverage of interactions among the White House, Congress and judiciary; generate, assign and edit news and enterprise stories; lead political reporters; incorporate data and multimedia; supervise Factba.se and its newsletter; develop database-driven products; collaborate across editorial and production teams; and promote journalism through social media, events and media appearances.

Report and write daily coverage of congressional leaders, House factions, caucuses, strategies and messaging for CQ Roll Call’s policy and political audiences. Produce breaking news, analysis, profiles, newsletters, vote studies and enterprise reporting; contribute to legislative tracking and major legislation coverage. Develop sources, collaborate across multimedia teams, participate in webinars and maintain accuracy, objectivity, fairness and editorial independence.

Own the full new-business sales cycle for FiscalNote’s public-sector products, from outbound prospecting and pipeline development through product demonstrations, negotiations, and closing. Target congressional, state, and local government offices, meet new-logo sales targets, forecast pipeline, attend industry events, and coordinate client handoffs with Account Management. The role requires navigating government-office protocols and communicating effectively with senior legislative staff.
