Supervise and direct line and substation crews in construction, maintenance, repair, testing, and emergency restoration of electric transmission and distribution systems. Enforce safety practices, coordinate resources and interdepartmental work, train and counsel employees, and manage scheduling, equipment, and materials.

Perform construction, maintenance, and restoration of electric distribution systems. Duties include climbing poles, setting and anchoring poles, splicing/terminating cables, installing transformers, meters and streetlights, performing substation switching, operating hydraulic and lift equipment (when certified), troubleshooting outages, and providing on-the-job training to apprentices. Work is outdoors in all weather, may require extended hours, travel within assigned region, and compliance with safety, DOT, and union requirements.

Provide safety leadership and technical expertise across assigned electric business units. Maintain visible field presence, verify direct controls for high-risk electrical work, lead incident and near-miss investigations, deliver training and mentoring, analyze safety data and trends, support SMS integration, and lead storm/emergency safety response. Drive closure of systemic safety gaps and collaborate with operations, union leadership, and stakeholders to improve safety performance and compliance.
