Perform diagnostic ocular testing (visual acuity, visual fields, OCT, GDX, HRT), prepare testing rooms, assist patient flow and education, record histories and coding, maintain equipment, and support clinicians. Level II may perform additional tests, A-scans, contact lens duties, or act as scribe/ophthalmic tech.

Accompany physicians during ophthalmic exams to transcribe comprehensive exam notes into the EHR, update medications, prepare surgery templates, assist with procedures and patient flow, print/send prescriptions and correspondence, complete referrals and follow-up tasks, and maintain accurate, compliant medical records and exam rooms.

The Retina Scribe assists the physician during patient exams by transcribing notes, updating records, and managing patient flow, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
