Requires healthcare billing experience, knowledge of orthopedic or surgical billing, coding systems, EMR platforms, insurance procedures, and HIPAA compliance.

Supports physicians and advanced practice providers by documenting medical visits in the EMR, preparing charts and referrals, coordinating schedules, assisting with operative reports, and handling confidential administrative and clerical tasks. The role requires accurate documentation, attention to detail, discretion, organization, and collaboration across clinical departments.

Operates X-ray and C-arm equipment to produce diagnostic images, performs quality control, prepares and educates patients, maintains EMR records, follows radiation safety standards, and assists with clinical procedures such as cast, suture, and staple removal. Supports fluoroscopy procedures, satellite locations, patient rooming, scheduling, and continuing education while maintaining licensure and certification.

Reviews clinical documentation and assigns accurate CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, diagnosis, and procedure codes for orthopedic and surgical services. Ensures regulatory and payer compliance, clarifies documentation with providers, monitors denials and coding edits, supports claim corrections, enters charge data, and partners with billing teams to maintain clean claims. Requires an active coding certification, medical coding experience, and familiarity with healthcare records and coding systems.

Obtains insurance pre-authorizations and verifies physician orders, payer requirements, benefits, and patient cost responsibilities. Documents authorization details in the EMR, communicates status with patients, providers, and clinical staff, and supports billing by researching rejected, denied, or incorrectly paid claims. Educates departments on changing authorization and insurance requirements and maintains knowledge of medical coding and terminology.

Reviews clinical documentation, assigns orthopedic diagnosis and procedure codes, and manages ASC surgical billing from claim creation through payment resolution. Monitors denials, rejections, and edits; supports appeals, audits, documentation clarification, and revenue cycle improvements. Provides billing assistance to patients, providers, staff, and vendors while maintaining compliance with CMS guidelines, payer policies, and ASC coding regulations.

Evaluates and treats the full range of foot and ankle musculoskeletal conditions through operative and non-operative care. Provides patient-centered treatment, collaborates with orthopaedic specialists and clinical team members, and delivers coordinated care in a multidisciplinary practice. Responsibilities include managing routine and complex conditions, applying strong surgical skills and clinical judgment, and contributing to comprehensive orthopaedic services.
