As a Research Engineer, you'll enhance visual understanding capabilities by training and deploying models to make video datasets queryable, driving down costs, and collaborating on data taxonomy design.

Design and scale resilient backend services and distributed data systems, orchestrate compute workloads across cloud environments, build high-performance data applications and query/visualization tools, and optimize cloud storage and pipelines for throughput, reliability, and cost-efficiency while collaborating with product and customer-facing teams.

Build and improve core components of the Daft distributed data engine including query planning/optimizer, execution engine, distributed scheduler, and storage integrations (Parquet, Iceberg, Delta). Work on memory-stable streaming computation, resource utilization, scheduling, and fault tolerance. Collaborate in a small in-person team, engage with customers, and take ownership of system design and implementation.
