Teams at ERCOT

Develops and manages transmission system models for ERCOT operations and planning, including steady-state, short-circuit, geomagnetic disturbance, generation, and load models. Validates submitted network data, resolves modeling issues, creates modeling methodologies, and builds software tools using Python, Java, C#, and SQL. Supports modeling infrastructure, databases, interfaces, and applications while coordinating with transmission providers and internal stakeholders. Provides training, manages upgrades, and assesses NERC standard changes.

Performs electrical engineering analysis and technical support for electric power system planning and operations. Conducts steady-state, dynamic contingency, and stability studies using power-system simulation tools; evaluates models, operating results, and system limits; develops recommendations and reports; supports NERC and stakeholder requirements. As a senior subject-matter expert, leads complex studies and multifunctional teams, mentors engineers, presents findings, and guides projects involving transmission planning and grid reliability.

Leads ERCOT’s regional planning team and independent reviews of major transmission upgrades. Oversees steady-state power flow contingency analyses, evaluates suspension-of-operation requests and reliability needs, mentors engineers and analysts, and serves as a technical expert. The role communicates findings to executives, stakeholders, regulators, and the ERCOT Board; supports cross-functional system improvements, audits, quality assurance, policy guidance, and transmission planning process enhancements.
