Engineering interns will contribute to optical terminals for space-based laser communications or satellite networking systems. Projects may include FPGA firmware, network simulation, mechanical subsystems, optoelectronic test equipment, or embedded flight software. Interns will scope, execute, integrate, and present technical projects while working onsite with mentors and engineering teams. Work may support production systems or hardware intended for orbital deployment.

Engineering interns will contribute to optical terminals, space-based laser communications, embedded flight software, FPGA firmware, network simulation, mechanical subsystems, or optoelectronic test equipment. Interns will scope, execute, integrate, and present technical projects with mentorship from a small engineering team. Work is hands-on and may support hardware flying in orbit or constellation-scale network architecture.

Design and develop space-qualified electronics across high-speed digital systems, optical transceivers, and optical terminal electronics. Responsibilities include PCB and power delivery design, signal integrity and EMI/EMC, motor and laser driver circuits, transimpedance amplifiers, vendor integration, thermal and qualification testing, system integration, and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
