The Communications Writer creates, edits, and publishes content across blogs, websites, newsletters, campaigns, reports, and donor materials. The role manages editorial workflows and calendars, translates complex environmental and policy topics for diverse audiences, edits internal contributions, and collaborates across communications, development, digital, and program teams. Responsibilities also include maintaining website content, identifying timely storytelling opportunities, applying SEO and analytics insights, and supporting advocacy, fundraising, and public engagement goals.

Paid summer legal internship for rising third-year law students supporting environmental litigation, policy advocacy, legislative research, case strategy, drafting, grassroots work, and special projects. Interns gain exposure to energy, transportation, air and water quality, and conservation matters while working with attorneys, agencies, legislators, and community members. The position is based in Chicago and requires strong academic, writing, analytical, and environmental advocacy credentials.

Handles appellate litigation and federal regulatory advocacy on environmental, clean energy, climate, and natural-resource matters. Responsibilities include drafting appellate briefs, motions, pleadings, agency comments, declarations, and discovery or FOIA requests; conducting legal and factual research; coordinating experts; engaging clients and community partners; collaborating with communications staff; and supervising legal interns.
