Manage Canadian payroll escalations, onboarding, Payworks setup, file reviews, compliance audits, quality assurance, and root-cause resolution. Train global payroll delivery resources, create SOPs and enablement materials, support corrective actions, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely client payroll processing.

Serve as the embedded Controller for 5–10 complex clients, owning accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, planning, audits, tax filings, and financial decision support. Partner with founders, executives, boards, and nonprofit leaders; lead strategic finance projects, improve systems and processes, review financial quality, and manage risks. Lead and mentor bookkeepers and accountants while maintaining high client service and delivery standards.

The Assistant Controller supports client financial reporting, monthly reviews, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, audits, tax filings, technical accounting, and full-cycle accounting. The role also oversees quality standards, identifies process improvements, mentors junior accounting staff, supports client onboarding, and builds trusted client relationships. It offers progression toward a Controller position with increasing responsibility for financial leadership, client ownership, and team management.
