Coordinates payer authorizations, clinical reviews, reimbursement follow-up, denial appeals, and insurance documentation for hospitalized patients. Reviews accounts, communicates with insurers and case management staff, updates authorization information in EPIC, processes payer requests, supports clinical appeals, and tracks denials and outlier reports. Ensures timely faxing, accurate documentation, and escalation of payer issues to leadership.

Provides basic nursing care within LVN scope, supports RNs and physicians, collects and documents patient information, assists with examinations and diagnostic testing, communicates results, provides discharge instructions and callbacks, maintains supplies and work areas, and supports efficient patient flow in an infectious disease clinic.

Manages nursing operations for an assigned hospital unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staffing, budgeting, performance improvement, education, competency development, and clinical informatics adoption. Supervises clinical and non-clinical staff, coordinates orientation and professional development, maintains survey readiness, supports evidence-based practice, and provides direct clinical assistance when needed.
