The Assistant Controller supports accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, audits, tax filings, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The role supervises invoicing, accounts payable, collections, and accounts receivable activities; ensures GAAP and SOX compliance; maintains financial records; identifies discrepancies; and improves accounting processes through automation and AI adoption. This is an on-site Irvine position with occasional overtime during closing periods.

Leads the full People function, including HR, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, culture, employee experience, workforce planning, succession, leadership development, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. Partners with executive leadership on organizational growth, M&A due diligence and integration, change management, and scalable people infrastructure. Oversees and develops the People team while guiding culture, engagement, performance, and talent strategies across the company.

Supports freight operations by booking trucks, coordinating shipments with carriers, tracking deliveries, resolving delays, maintaining shipping records, entering logistics data into transportation management systems, and communicating with carriers and internal teams. This in-office internship offers flexible hours, mentorship, and hands-on experience in food distribution logistics.
