The Assistant Controller leads month-end close activities, technical accounting research under U.S. GAAP, reconciliations, financial reporting, audits, cash-flow forecasting, and financial analysis. This role supervises and mentors accounting staff, supports budgeting, strengthens coverage across royalties, sales tax, and inventory accounting, and improves processes through controlled automation and AI adoption. The position also partners with finance leadership, IT, and external auditors while supporting accounting policies, systems enhancements, and team development.

Maintains accounts receivable records, processes cash receipts and bank deposits, reconciles sales, and assists with employee expense advances. Provides accounting department reception duties, including answering phones, greeting guests, handling mail, managing petty cash, ordering supplies, and coordinating repairs. Supports inventory and promotional item maintenance in ERP and CRM systems while performing data entry and general employee services.

Supports the COO by coordinating executive projects, timelines, documentation, meetings, communications, and administrative operations. Leads cross-functional startup activities for establishing a new university, including accreditation, licensure, staffing, facilities, curriculum, enrollment, vendors, and regulatory documentation. Maintains project trackers and repositories, prepares presentations and meeting materials, coordinates hiring and external engagements, handles confidential information, and follows up on action items and deadlines.
