Own FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, five-year planning, financial modeling, cash-flow reporting, variance analysis, and executive reporting. Develop board presentations, dashboards, and performance reports; track risks and opportunities; manage strategic funding controls; and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders. The role also drives process improvements, automation, reporting standardization, and collaboration across finance and business teams.

Provides financial leadership and commercial insight to business units across farming, CEA, property, and central functions. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, KPI development, variance commentary, financial modeling, investment appraisal, scenario analysis, reporting, governance, stakeholder engagement, and improving finance processes, ERP systems, data quality, and reporting automation.

Supports the Finance Manager with accounts payable, invoice processing, payment runs, month-end close, journals, reconciliations, financial reporting, tax support, cash management, and audit records. The role also contributes to finance system improvements, automation, process controls, and continuous efficiency initiatives across the finance team.

Provides hands-on care and management of a suckler beef herd, including grazing and forage planning, calving, herd health, breeding, foot trimming, feeding, record keeping, and animal welfare. Maintains fencing, yards, water systems, equipment, and wider estate presentation while supporting health and safety standards. Works with farm management and veterinary teams to implement herd health plans and improve livestock performance.

Oversee autonomous harvesting, UV, and biological robots in a glasshouse environment. Configure and calibrate systems, monitor KPIs, troubleshoot faults, perform maintenance, supervise and train robot operatives, and coordinate with technology suppliers. Support automation projects across logistics, husbandry, and packing; improve data capture and system integration; and promote safe human-automation practices.

The PHD Industry Placement involves assisting in agricultural research, data collection, crop husbandry, and managing a research project under mentorship for practical experience.
