Teams at DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital

Serve as liaison among pet owners, referring veterinarians, and specialty departments. Coordinate appointments, manage medical record communications, support client experience from check-in to discharge, and use veterinary practice management software to ensure smooth referral workflows.

Two-week observational externship for fourth-year veterinary students at a specialty ER/ICU. Students observe clinicians in a fast-paced, AAHA-accredited, VECCS Level 1 teaching hospital. Externs work four 10–12 hour days per week, start every other Monday, and cannot receive university evaluations (attendance verification only). Externships exclude June and late December and require eligibility to work in the U.S. and a signed liability waiver.
