Lead and scale the program management office, overseeing complex hardware and software product programs from industrialization through launch, certification, production, and customer delivery. Manage program and project managers, strengthen execution processes, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks and commercial negotiations, and oversee relationships with manufacturing and supply chain partners. Serve on the leadership team and report to the CEO.

Own end-to-end integration of the Field Operator HUD with military customer platforms. Adapt software, connect sensors, displays, video, and communications, and prepare prototypes for demonstrations and field trials. Support deployments and exercises in the UK, translate customer needs into R&D work, and identify reusable product capabilities. Collaborate with software teams while working across C++, Unity, embedded systems, Linux, VR/XR, and software-to-hardware interfaces.

Build and lead the company-wide People function as Distance Technologies scales globally. Own the employee lifecycle, culture, organizational design, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, DEI, talent acquisition, and employer branding. Partner with founders and leadership on people strategy while remaining hands-on in building processes, tools, and teams. The role is based primarily onsite in Helsinki with regular international travel.

Design and implement low-latency FPGA logic for realtime image processing in head-mounted and vehicle systems. Translate specs into SystemVerilog/VHDL, build testbenches, achieve timing closure, optimize latency across clock domains, and perform hardware bring-up and debugging with board and embedded software teams.

Own architecture and implementation of the XR compositor and OpenXR runtime, define graphics and IPC frameworks, ensure multi-process reliability, extend automated tests, drive product definition, and mentor engineers on cross-stack runtime and platform integration.

Lead and establish quality engineering for Distance Runtime: define test strategy, implement automation and CI coverage, run visual regression and manual validation on reference hardware, own release QA and go/no-go decisions, define defect workflows and quality gates, and grow a QA team collaborating closely with runtime, tracking, platform, Safety and Security.
