Teams at Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)

A 12-month virtual fellowship for mid-to-senior contracting and agreements officers to rotate at DIU, develop a capstone training plan for their home organization, and apply technical contracting expertise and innovation. Applicants must submit a resume, supervisor recommendation, and letter of intent. Selected fellows begin January 2027.

Provide financial management support for DIU: formulate and execute budgets, align resources to contracts and program milestones, analyze program/acquisition data, certify funding availability, advise on fiscal law and policy, support financial systems and audit compliance across offices.

Serve as a technical authority to help evaluate, prototype, adapt, and transition commercial technologies for Department of War use. Provide subject-matter expertise, collaborate with industry partners, and work with Military Departments and Combatant Commands to field innovative solutions and scale successful prototypes.
