Senior backend engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying on-premise and cloud microservices for an AI-driven digital pathology product. Work with cross-functional agile teams, use containerization and cloud tech, support monitoring and troubleshooting, drive development best practices, and complete required regulated-environment compliance training.

Maintain and optimize servers, networks, endpoints, communication systems, and security software. Provide desk-side and remote support, manage ServiceDesk tickets, onboard and offboard employees, configure devices, and administer Office 365 or Google Workspace. Maintain hardware logistics and asset records, support network upgrades and laboratory infrastructure projects, enforce IT governance and ISO 27001-aligned policies, manage incidents, and improve service processes while collaborating with international IT teams and vendors.

Conduct independent AI research in digital pathology by building benchmark datasets and evaluation tasks, statistically characterizing control data, curating whole-slide images and metadata, validating pathology models, and collaborating with pathologists. The role involves reproducible analysis, scientific literature review, publishing, presenting results, and contributing to EU-funded research partnerships focused on virtual control groups and improved animal research methods.
