Teams at Dallas Zoo

Provides daily care, feeding, enrichment, training, exhibit maintenance, health monitoring, and welfare support for primates and other taxa. Maintains animal records, assists with transfers and procedures, participates in research, educates zoo guests, and supports conservation initiatives. The role also involves supervising and mentoring staff, interns, and volunteers; responding to emergencies; performing capture and restraint; and collaborating with veterinary and zoo teams.

Assist with grassroots conservation fundraising campaigns, including event planning, logistics, guest engagement, community outreach, conservation messaging, database management, and committee coordination. Represent the Dallas Zoo at on- and off-site events, including some evening and weekend activations. The internship provides experience in nonprofit operations and community partnerships and requires 20–24 hours weekly for up to 12 weeks.

Provides daily care for butterflies throughout their life cycle, maintains exhibits and records, monitors animal health, and delivers engaging conservation and educational programs to zoo guests. The role includes handling live and expired butterflies, training volunteers and interns, supporting special events and conservation initiatives, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, and working outdoors, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours.
