Crafted At Crafted, We Build

At Crafted, no two days are the same. The project development consultancy partners collaboratively with clients to build solutions with top-notch user experiences. The work varies greatly — from a project for a construction services company that aims to improve the homebuilder experience to a virtual keepsake book for users to compile photos and memories of loved ones they’ve lost. The result? Continuous learning opportunities for team members. “Engineers, designers and product team members work closely together at every step of the process,” said Senior Product Designer Aaron Knoll. “We get to be at the top of our game — creative not only with design but also with the methodologies we use to get there.”

Inside Our Work

Every day and every project offers something new

As a senior product designer, Aaron Knoll is involved in the design process from conception to execution. “But my role doesn’t end with design. I get to be an information architect, interaction designer, usability expert and researcher.” Knoll spends some days designing and prototyping and others traveling with clients to speak with product users. The range of clients Crafted works with provides opportunities to learn the inner workings of different industries, and no matter the project, “We are all empowered to help our clients reach their potential with the products we develop.”

For learning enthusiasts, resources abound

A constant exchange of knowledge means engineering team members are always learning something new. “We have syncs in which engineers share what they recently learned and are excited about,” said Software Engineer Kseniya Kudzelich. “My latest topic covered the Apache HBase database.” Kudzelich focuses on developing new features and fixing existing ones, testing applications and educating clients on potential solutions. Working with the AWS platform, Kudzelich enjoys discovering how tools such as Amazon’s Cognito, Simple Queue Service and Lambda fit into her team’s projects.

High-quality solutions from cross-functional collaboration

For Senior Product Manager TJ Bowen, “A typical day means collaboration between product, design, engineering and the A/B team.” Gathering information on a feature’s performance, “we adjust priorities, iterate on designs and develop new A/B tests,” he explained. “We are passionate about our product perspectives, yet everyone is quick to back off from strongly held beliefs if data or reasoning changes our minds.” Working in an environment where he feels supported and surrounded by good energy, Bowen is excited about Crafted’s growth. “We have so much momentum, and it is an exhilarating feeling.”
