Teams at Cowlitz Indian Tribe

This internship offers Cowlitz Tribal members practical experience in economic development by participating in projects, shadowing staff, and assisting with administrative tasks.

Supervise accounts payable staff and operations, oversee disbursements and electronic payments, maintain vendor records, perform month-/year-end closings and 1099 processing, resolve invoice/payment issues, enforce internal controls, prepare reports, and support tribal enterprise payments and reconciliations.

Serve as the Tribe's THPO to manage cultural resources programs, review projects for effects to historic properties, pursue HPF grant funding, conduct field and archival investigations, coordinate with agencies and tribes, oversee project tracking, respond to emergencies affecting cultural sites, hire staff, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and tribal preservation laws.
