Serve as a strategic operator and trusted liaison to the CEO, managing the Office of the CEO, executive schedule, internal communications, information flow, and cross-functional coordination. Track CEO OKRs, facilitate leadership meetings, draft and review external/internal briefing materials, staff the CEO at events, and lead high-level projects while acting as a proxy for the CEO when needed.

The freelancer will produce 5-8 local news stories weekly and create social content, focusing on audience engagement in South Texas.

Produce investigative, audience-focused political journalism covering the state legislature and criminal justice system. Break news, analyze court filings and hearings, create multimedia content (on-camera videos, social posts, newsletters), grow an audience product, use analytics to refine strategy, and build diverse sources across the state.
