Substitute Group Leaders support NYC after-school programs for K–8 students by supervising groups, assisting with activities, managing behavior through restorative approaches, supporting attendance and transitions, and fostering safe, inclusive environments. They build positive relationships with students and staff and promote social-emotional learning and positive youth development throughout the school year.

Supports after-school program management, staff supervision, compliance, scheduling, attendance, and logistics. Leads curriculum review, instructional coaching, classroom observations, professional development, and social-emotional learning integration. Builds relationships with schools, families, and community partners while promoting inclusive, culturally responsive, trauma-informed programming. Acts as Program Director when needed and ensures adherence to DYCD, DOH, and OCFS requirements.

Success Mentors support at-risk high school students by welcoming them, engaging families, monitoring attendance, identifying barriers, developing improvement plans, coordinating referrals, and tracking interventions. The role involves daily work at assigned NYC public school sites in Brooklyn, collaboration with school staff and counselors, and helping students overcome academic, social, family, health, and motivational challenges. Candidates need a high school diploma or GED, professional boundaries, and the ability to connect with teenagers.
