Supports the full employee lifecycle through onboarding and offboarding, HRIS maintenance, benefits administration, compliance documentation, policy support, immigration coordination, and recruiting operations. The role manages detailed People Ops processes, coordinates with legal and immigration counsel, maintains ATS data, supports candidate scheduling, and improves workflows as the organization scales. It is full-time and on-site in Berkeley, California.

The Operations Generalist will support capacity planning, office space allocation, resource optimization, process improvement, and workflow automation for an AI safety research center. Responsibilities include forecasting space needs, resolving resource conflicts, managing stakeholder requests, improving operational systems, and leading additional projects across operations and programming. The role requires prioritizing numerous tasks, synthesizing complex information, communicating decisions effectively, and working onsite with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

Provide hands-on IT support for staff, researchers, and visitors. Responsibilities include ticket resolution, hardware and software troubleshooting, account support, device setup, inventory management, onboarding and offboarding, Google Workspace administration, physical access control, camera monitoring, event support, office reservations, and documentation. The role also assists with office operations and may require evening or weekend onsite coverage for events or urgent issues.
