Represent low-income clients in consumer defense matters under supervision, managing litigation tasks, client interviews, legal research, drafting pleadings, outreach, and community education while maintaining case records in Legal Server.

Provide daily administrative and operational support for the pro bono unit, manage volunteer records and onboarding/offboarding, coordinate clinics, trainings, outreach and recognition events, maintain volunteer tracking and reporting for grants, support remote legal services innovation, and serve as primary volunteer contact.

Provide legal representation and advocacy for clients on federal and state public benefits (SSI, SSDI, CalFresh, CalWORKs, UIB, CAPI, General Relief); handle administrative appeals and ALJ hearings, litigate in state and federal court after exhaustion, manage casework, maintain LegalServer records, perform legal research and drafting, supervise paralegals and interns, conduct outreach and workshops, and engage in policy advocacy with community partners.

Supervise and lead the Systemic Impact Unit’s impact advocacy, including identifying systemic legal issues, developing litigation and policy strategies, managing co-counsel and community partnerships, supervising attorneys and staff, conducting trainings and outreach, managing grant deliverables, and representing the organization publicly to advance civil rights and poverty-related systemic reform.
