Leads Common Cause’s Wisconsin strategy, public policy and grassroots campaigns, lobbying, coalition building, communications, fundraising, membership growth, and team management. The State Director serves as a spokesperson, oversees state operations and budgets, develops relationships with stakeholders and funders, and advances democracy, voting rights, civil rights, accountability, and anti-corruption priorities. The role requires extensive Wisconsin political knowledge, advocacy experience, travel throughout the state, and occasional national travel.

Leads Common Cause’s individual giving strategy across major gifts and direct response channels. Supervises and develops the Major Gifts team, builds organization-wide fundraising capacity, manages donor engagement systems and budgets, and personally cultivates a $1.25 million-plus donor portfolio. The role also develops fundraising campaigns, expands emerging giving channels, partners with senior leaders, hosts events, and drives organizational change. Based in Washington, DC, it requires in-office work at least two days weekly and frequent national travel.

Leads Common Cause California’s legislative and policy agenda, including drafting legislation, lobbying, testifying, negotiating amendments, building coalitions, managing advocacy campaigns, and representing the organization with policymakers, partners, media, donors, and the state advisory board. The role also oversees lobbying filings, communications, consultants, fundraising support, and stakeholder engagement. It is based in the Sacramento area with regular in-person Capitol work and periodic travel.
