Coordinates and facilitates shipboard training and development programs, identifies learning needs, coaches crew, maintains training records and facilities, tracks attendance and metrics, audits training quality, and reports gaps to management. The role also supports scheduling around vessel operations, collaborates across departments, promotes a respectful work environment, and participates in emergency drills while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

Maintain and support the vessel’s engineering systems aboard a large cruise ship. Candidates must hold a valid Certificate of Competency and STCW certifications, with at least 12 months’ experience as a second engineer on cruise ships. The role requires strong communication, leadership, English proficiency, safety awareness, and experience in multicultural environments. Experience with large cruise ships and worldwide itineraries is required; USA and Australia trading experience is preferred.

Serves as the vessel’s statutory Safety Officer while maintaining bridge watchkeeping proficiency. Oversees maritime safety compliance, life-saving and firefighting equipment readiness, inspections, audits, accident investigations, drills, emergency training, work permits, certifications, and corrective actions. Supports crew development as Cadet Training Officer and understudies the Staff Captain. Requires Basic Polar Waters certification and experience sailing in ice and polar waters.
