Unpaid, weeklong professional development opportunity for engineering students exploring life safety consulting and fire protection engineering. Participants will learn about code consulting, design, and field services; complete sample project work; receive mentoring; and attend sessions on resume writing, career development, the EIT exam, and CRC summer internships. The program takes place onsite in Southborough, Massachusetts, during the week of January 5, 2027.

Paid internship supporting fire and life safety consulting through building inspections, code reports, architectural and engineering plan reviews, performance-based fire and egress modeling, life safety plan development in AutoCAD and Revit, system commissioning, and firestop inspections. Interns collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts on-site and in the office while developing practical consulting, communication, and project management skills.
