Assist the Public Works Director in overseeing streets, storm drainage, solid waste, facilities, cemetery, and fleet operations. Supervise division supervisors and staff, support budgeting, capital planning, contract administration, regulatory compliance, emergency response, and process improvements. Represent the department, perform inspections, handle citizen inquiries, and act for the Director in their absence.

Perform routine and regulatory wastewater laboratory analyses, collect/preserve/transport samples, maintain lab certification and quality control, prepare regulatory reports and eDMRs, support plant operations and inspections, serve as on-call operator, assist with maintenance and training, and ensure compliance with NCDEQ and state/federal wastewater regulations.

Receive and dispatch routine and emergency public safety calls using CAD and radio, maintain logs and records, assist the public, operate DCI terminal, and support police and fire personnel. Maintain accurate data entry and follow departmental procedures.
