Provides legal assistance to the City under supervision, including prosecuting municipal violations, conducting legal research, representing the City in hearings, supporting civil litigation and employee disciplinary matters, reviewing public records requests, drafting ordinances and contracts, and delivering legal training. Maintains a Texas law license, completes continuing legal education, and meets CJIS access qualifications.

Supports Arlington’s Safe Routes to School Master Plan and demonstration projects through roadway safety data collection and analysis, review of safety recommendations, public engagement, and creation of presentations and informational materials. The role requires 10–20 hours weekly during normal working hours and involves collaboration with schools, neighbors, city employees, and other stakeholders.

Oversees planning staff and manages long-range and current planning projects. Coordinates comprehensive plans, zoning cases, development applications, variances, ordinance revisions, consultant contracts, budgets, public engagement, and interdepartmental initiatives. Reviews plans for regulatory compliance, prepares staff reports, presents recommendations to boards and City Council, provides technical planning guidance, and supervises professional teams. The role also evaluates demographic, zoning, economic, geographic, historic, and infrastructure data using GIS and related tools.
